Athletic Training/Conditioning
The athletic training department is one of the best in the country.
The Wildcats have immediate access to both the athletic training
room as well as the best doctors in the country.
Led by senior athletic trainer Tricia Matysak, the UK athletic training
staff and physicians who work with the UK Hoops team on a daily
basis offer the best care available to the student-athletes.
The Joe Craft Center athletic training room is complete with rehabilitation
equipment and a rehabilitation area. A treatment area also
exists with numerous types of modalities. The state-of-the-art
hydrotherapy room includes a Hydroworx underwater treadmill for
aquatic rehabilitation and two therapy pools.
Ansley and her staff before each season to improve performance on the court.
“The athletic training staff is very dedicated to getting the athlete back on the court as soon as they can.
During my rehabilitation Tricia Matysak (UK Hoops trainer) supported me and worked me hard but she helped
me stay focused through tough times or when I wasn’t having a good day. The facilities at UK also were critical
to my recovery after my knee surgery. It would have been a much longer process without the hydrotherapy
treadmill and their other state-of-the art equipment.” — Red-shirt junior Eleia Roddy
