322 Mass Start Competitions<br />
322.1 Definition<br />
At mass start competitions, all athletes start at the same time and final results<br />
are determined by finish arrival order.<br />

322.2.2 There must be no factors along the course that cause congestion.<br />
322.2.3 If ski exchange is allowed, the stadium must be organised in a way that<br />
athletes going to exchange skis will ski longer distance comparing to athletes<br />
that will not change skis.<br />
322.3 Entries - Substitution<br />
322.3.1 Substitution is possible according to <strong>ICR</strong> art. 313.4.<br />
322.3.2 The substitute athlete’s start position will be determined by the Jury, using<br />
the same procedure that established the start list. The athlete's start position<br />
will be in between the starting positions (lines) of the competitors adjacent<br />
to him.<br />
322.3.3 The athlete takes the bib of the one he is replacing.<br />
322.3.4 The original start position will be left empty.<br />
322.4 Starting Order and Start Procedure<br />
322.4.1 Mass Start procedure must be used (see <strong>ICR</strong> art. 315.3).
