352.3 Competition suspension<br />
352.3.1 Competition suspension can only be used for <strong>ICR</strong> infractions during sprint<br />
heats and bonus sprints (both intermediate and finish).<br />
352.3.2 A competition suspension must always be accompanied by a Written Reprimand.<br />
352.3.3 In Sprint competitions, a competition suspension means that the competitor<br />
will be ranked last in the heat and last in the round (6 th for final, 12 th for<br />
1⁄2 finals and 30 th for 1⁄4 finals).<br />
352.3.4 In Mass Start or Skiathlon competitions, a competition suspension means<br />
that the competitor will be relegated out of the result of a bonus sprint.<br />
352.4 Time Penalty<br />
352.4.1 Early start infractions should be sanctioned by time penalties:<br />
352.4.1.1 In interval start competitions or sprint qualifications, early start infractions<br />
should be sanctioned by a minimum time penalty of 15 seconds (the competitor's<br />
actual skiing time + 15 seconds minimum penalty).<br />
352.4.1.2 In competitions with handicap start, early start infractions should be sanctioned<br />
by a time penalty equal to the time gained (posted start time minus<br />
actual start time) + 30 seconds minimum penalty.<br />
352.4.2 In stage events, the Jury can decide to substitute a DSQ with a 3 minutes<br />
time penalty (see <strong>ICR</strong> art. 352.2.4).<br />
352.5 Written Reprimand<br />
352.5.1 Written reprimand should be used for all infractions of the rules that do not<br />
lead to a clear advantage for the offender.<br />
352.6 Verbal Reprimand<br />
Verbal reprimand should be used only to inform a competitor that his technique<br />
or behavior is very close to being in violation of the rules.<br />
352.7 Monetary Fine<br />
352.7.1 Monetary fines can be given to any accredited person.<br />
352.7.2 Monetary fine should be used for infractions of advertising and commercial<br />
markings rules, for minor course discipline infractions, and for violation of<br />
restrictions on ski testing and warming up.<br />
352.7.3 For competitors, a monetary fine may also be accompanied by a written<br />
reprimand.<br />
