New Staff On Board
Manager (Golf)
Matthew Lui joined the Jurong family
on 1 April as our new Manager for Golf.
Though a late starter in the golf fraternity,
the 20-year industry veteran has made
his mark, rising from the ranks of a Golf
Manager to that of a General Manager in
his most recent appointment.
Prior to joining us, Matthew was
credited for raising the market value of
the apartments at PT Guthrie Jaya Indah
Island Resort by threefold. He also managed to reduce bad debts by
half within a span of 6 years. During his tenure as a Director of Golf
Operations in another golf and country club in Indonesia, he played a
pivotal role in collecting US$200,000 of green fees and membership
dues through various marketing and promotional efforts. Having a
knack for raising funds, Matthew managed to garner approximately
$1.25 million for various charitable organizations in Singapore during
his 7-year stint at Raffles Country Club.
Assistant Manager (Operations)
Joining us on 4 March, James Collar
was appointed as the Assistant Manager
(Operations). James brings with him
a wealth of experience in F&B service
delivery and staff training, including
leadership and management of F&B
service operations. James had previously
assumed various management positions
in renowned F&B outlets and was
instrumental in developing the external
catering business for the Dome group and setting up a service
sequence for them in their Malaysian outlets.
Resident Technical Officer (Golf Course Upgrading Project)
Paul Chong joined us on 22 March as a
Resident Technical Officer for our golf
course upgrading project. He has extensive
experience supervising projects for
properties as well as golf courses. Amongst
others, he was the Clerk-of-Works for the
construction of minor and major renovation
work for the Clubhouse and golf courses
of Singapore Island County Club, Garden
Course of Tanah Merah Country Club and
Buggy Shed extension of Sembawang
Country Club. Paul also served as a site coordinator for the golf course
improvement work at Laguna National Golf and Country Club.
Star Service Award
Congratulations to Membership Assistant
Jubaidah Bte Dollah who was nominated
as the FIRST STAR Service Employee for the
quarter January to March 2010.

needs her assistance.

Best Employee Award
A familiar face on the golf course, Sudirman
is well liked amongst staff and members.
He is very dedicated to his work and takes
pride in what he does. Many a times when
golfers lose items on the
course, he would
diligently drive
around looking for
the missing items.
Sudirman had
received very
good comments
from members and
the Golf Committee
on his performance. He has
also assumed supervisory roles whenever
the Club is in need of golf supervisors and
never complains when given extra duties,
lending a helping hand to Golfing Assistants
(GAs) and Marshals whenever they have
to produce reports and even acting as
club photographer during major events.
