Prize Presentation 2009
The Golf Prize Presentation 2009 for both men and ladies
was held at the Ficus Ballroom on Friday 5 March. The
Golf Committee members played host to the event whose
main menu was not the food but the crystal ware prizes
that members had won in golf events held in 2009. They
were not disappointed as hundreds of these glittering
prizes were presented to the deserving winners.
A golf invitational competition was held in the afternoon
with Ross Tan and Grace Choo triumphing in the men and
ladies divisions respectively.
Comfortable Win For
Naranjan and Yu Swan
Naranjan Singh’s
partnerships in the Lunar
Trophy over the past few
years have been very
strong and this year,
it was no exception.
Forming a partnership
with Maung Yu Swan Naranjan Singh
helped the team to a
comfortable win in the
Lunar Trophy Competition
held on Saturday 20 February.
Both players made crucial
contributions in the team
scoring 47 stableford points.
This is the third triumph that
Naranjan had with different
partners in this competition
while Yu Swan tasted victory for the first time.
The year of the Tiger looks to be another promising year
for the two golfers if they can remain fit and maintain their
fine form.
The partnership
of Gan Chong
Shi and Winston
Wong could only
manage second
Winston Wong
placing despite
a creditable 45 points, leaving the
husband and wife team of Alan
Tan and Susan Mah finishing amongst the top three on 44
points on a countback.
