Photobustas
Premiere— November 12
Twentieth Century-Fox has a variety of exceptional color photobustas lor STAR! available in
four different sizes (8 x 10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20, 26 x 40) which have already prompted numerous
ways for us to use them for our Saenger-Orleans engagement.
We have an extensive tie-in with the D. H. Holmes Co., Ltd. department store here (equivalent to
lord & Taylor) and have acquired all of their Canal Street display windows for our presentation
of STAR! The store has agreed to duplicate many of the sets from the picture as background
tor the Donald Brooks fashions and original STAR! costumes. Photobustas of the scenes being recreated in the windows will be on
display allowing shoppers to view the actual scenes from the film and the life size replicas.
The STAR! color photobustas will be used generously in our Saenger-Orleans lobby and on the front much in the same style as legit
houses use blow-ups; over the entrance doors as well as mounted on large wide panels and in easel back display frames (see sketch).
Since the title, "STAR!" is short with only four
letters, photobustas are being used on the face
of large cutout letters that spell out the title.
The Fox logo, with its wide, bold, stencil effect
on the word STAR!, is ideal for this which will
result in having color illustrations of Julie Andrews
seen in the title itself. ~
I
might add that the quality as well as the color
on the STAR! photobustas is excellent and in
my opinion is far superior to photobustas we
have received in
companies.
the past from other major film
'Star!" Accessories
"STAR!" is a natural for applied showmanship. The early availability of a multitude of displa\
material made available by 20th Century-Fox in various sizes, shapes and forms has given exhibitors
an abundance of selling tools to launch a successful pre-opening display campaign. Among
these imaginative displays are 40 x 60 and 30 x 40 lobby cards, bulletin sheets, counter and window
cards as well as a herald, miniature 24 sheet, a unique mobile unit, window streamers, gift
certificate pads and group sales material.
The cok)rlul trunk" press kits contain an ample variety of material to fill
every need from bulletin boards to store windows. Whether on the street
or in the oft ice this colorful trunk attracts attention and the curiosity concerning
its contents has already done half the selling job for us even before
we started talking. The color art—8 x 10 to 26 x 40 photobustas—are a
must in all tie-up displays and will be the highlight when promoting fashions,
books, music and other merchandising tie-ins.
I want to call particular attention to the animated lobby standee. It's a "people
stopper" that creates an interest and stimulates ticket sales. Placed in a high
traffic area, you will be amazed at the number of prospective ticket buyers
it
attracts.
Having ticket order forms and heralds handy is also well worth the effort anil
expense Use these available selling tools wisely and tastefully and il will
prove to be a great factor in launching your successful campaign on STAR!
IWy compliments to 20th Century-Fox for supplying these accessories far
enough in advance for maximum effectiveness.
