According to GOST 30333-2007 the SDS is an obligatory part <strong>of</strong> the technical documentation<br />
<strong>of</strong> a chemical product (substance, mixture, material, industrial waste 24 ) and should<br />
ensure providing the correct information for safe pr<strong>of</strong>essional handling, as well as for safe<br />
household use 25 . <strong>The</strong> SDS must be provi<strong>de</strong>d free <strong>of</strong> charge. <strong>Bef</strong>ore producers or importers<br />
distribute an SDS, it shall be registered according to a procedure <strong>de</strong>fined by the competent<br />
<strong>org</strong>anisation <strong>The</strong> competent <strong>org</strong>anisation is assigning an expiry date (5 years from date <strong>of</strong><br />
issue), but in case <strong>of</strong> availability <strong>of</strong> new information the SDS shall be revised earlier. After<br />
registration a revised version <strong>of</strong> the SDS is to be distributed to all clients having bought the<br />
product within 12 months from date <strong>of</strong> revision <strong>of</strong> SDS.<br />

<strong>The</strong> future Fe<strong>de</strong>ral Law “Technical Reglament on Chemicals Safety”, will further strengthen<br />
the position for providing SDS according to the GHS/EC principles. Articles 12-8 and<br />
12-9 are specifying procedures for registration <strong>of</strong> SDSs. Each registered SDS will have<br />
a unique i<strong>de</strong>ntification number. <strong>The</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> the required documentation for the registra-<br />
