Recall that George <strong>and</strong> Nancy married in Franklin Co, TN <strong>and</strong> began <strong>the</strong>ir family <strong>the</strong>re. It would<br />

appear that <strong>the</strong>y left TN between 1853 <strong>and</strong> 1856 <strong>and</strong> migrated to Jacksonville in Cherokee Co,<br />

TX, <strong>and</strong> stayed <strong>the</strong>re <strong>the</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir lives.<br />

Ira Bennett <strong>Atkins</strong> continued this family line.<br />

widow in 1910. According to one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> public family trees, Ira died in 1910 probably sometime<br />

before <strong>the</strong> census was taken on 12 May 1910.<br />
