Johannes and Catherine Hackler, David’s parents, were not found in the 1860 census.
John B. Hackler, son of David and Mathilda Hackler was also not found in the 1860 census. He
would be 26 years old and married because it is thought he married in 1858.
1870
No Hackler in this family line was found in the 1870 census
1880
No Hackler in this family line was found in the 1880 census. It is not known why these families
are not visible in the 1860, 70, and 80 census records.
Because of the inability to find John Buly Hackler in the US census data, I will reproduce his
family here as documented in one or more public family trees found on www.ancestry.com and
as it might have appeared in 1880:
John and Elizabeth married on 11 July 1858 in Atchison Co, MO.
It is thought that John died in the Civil War on 12 January 1864 while serving in the Confederate
army. No details are currently available. He is listed in the Confederate Roll of Honor for
Missouri.
The total number of children in the John Buly Hackler family is not known. However, one,
George Oliver Hackler, continued this family line.
1890
The 1890 census was mostly destroyed in a fire in 1921.
