enrolled in this class meet twice a month on alternating
weekends to prepare pieces to be performed at the end of
each semester in the Guitar Departmental Recitals, as well
as a concert performance with the Conservatory Guitar
Ensemble at the annual Fret Festival 2014. Acceptance
is by audition only. All new students, please call the
Preparatory Office at 410-234-4630 to schedule an audition
interview for the 2013-2014 academic year. For questions,

Audition Requirements
Sight-reading; performance of 1 piece of student's choice
(memorization not required); one-octave scales (C Major, G
Major, a minor and e minor). Playing at the recommended
requirement level does not guarantee acceptance.

Guitar Enrichment Classes (Ages 9 to Adults)
Open to all guitar students enrolled in beginner
classes and individual instruction at the Preparatory
only. Guitar Enrichment Classes are included in the
tuition price of group class or Individual Instruction.
Attendance is encouraged and strongly recommended
as an essential part of the student's growth
and development in the guitar program.
Guitar Enrichment Classes provide an opportunity
for students to learn ear-training, introductory theory
and note reading reinforcement, finger coordination
exercises, rhythm drills, listening, music history and
performance practice. Classes are held for one hour
for eight bi-weekly classes per semester.

Harp Ensemble (Ages 13 to adult)
For students who have taken lessons for at least two
years. This six-week course offers experience working in
small ensemble groups. Students develop ensemble skills
that add a new dimension to musical growth in style and
performance. The goal of the class is a public performance
at the end of each semester. Audition and placement is
not required. Students should contact Michaela Trnkova in
advance of registration. Class length will be 60 minutes for
four or more students, 45 minutes for three students, or 30
minutes for two students. Minimum of two and maximum
of six students.

Harp Repertoire Classes
Open to all harp students enrolled in Harp Ensemble
or individual instruction at the Preparatory only. Harp
Repertoire Classes are included in the tuition price of
group class or Individual Instruction. Attendance is
encouraged and strongly recommended as an essential
part of the student's growth and development
in the harp program. Repertoire Classes provide
an opportunity for students to perform and listen
to solo repertoire, and to receive feedback from
Preparatory harp faculty members. Classes are held
on Sundays at the Towson campus, one class per
semester.
