"But the Qur'lIn came forward to re-present to the<br />

world at large the universal truth sponsored by<br />

every religion.<br />

a. "It (The Qur'lIn) not only stated that<br />

there is truth in every religion but it also<br />

made it clear that all religions are true.<br />

He said Deen is God's beneficenCe, so it<br />

is not possible that it might be bestowed<br />

upon anyone nation or group and the<br />

others may have no share in it.<br />

d. "The Qur'lIn came to distinguish religion<br />

from its outward observance. The former<br />

is called Deen and the latter Shar' a and<br />

Minhaj. Deen was but one and the same<br />

everywhere an4 at all times and was<br />

vouchsafed to one and all without<br />

discrimination. In respect of the outward<br />

observance of Deen, there was variation<br />

and this was inevitable. It varied from<br />

time to time and from people to people,<br />

as seemed pertinent to every. situation.<br />

Variations of this nature coUld not alter<br />

the character of Deen of the basis of<br />

religion. That was the truth, which the<br />

Qur'lIn aimed to emphasize. Its<br />

complaint was that Deen had been<br />

neglected and the variation in Shar'a and<br />

Minhaj or the outward form .of<br />

observance idealized and made the basis<br />

ofmutual differences among mankind ..
