The essentials of arithmetic and elementary and college algebra covered by the ACT test will be reviewed. Expect hours of study at home in addition to classwork. Students will be able to follow the procedures to sign affidavits, certifications and authenticate signatures. Notarizations of documents are highly used by corporations, small businesses, real state, immigration, legal and title companies. Students will learn test-taking skills while preparing for critical reading, writing and mathematics. SPRING SECTION 12 Sessions; 48 Hours $449 Saturdays 9:00AM - 1:00PM January 21 - April 28 TPE202-1SD STANDARDIZED TEST PREPARATION CLASS FOR NON-NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS This course prepares those whose first language is not English for taking standardized tests like the New York State Liberal Arts and Sciences Teacher Certification Test (LAST), the Assessment of Teaching Skills – Written (ATS-W), and the multi-subject Content Specialty Test (CST). The focus of the course is on the nuances or subtlety of meaning in standardized tests that might be difficult to understand if English is your second language. SPRING SECTION 8 Sessions; 32 Hours $299 Saturdays 10:00AM - 2:00PM April 21 - June 16 TPE200-1SD computercourses GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (GED) In addition to teaching you valuable test-taking techniques, this class will prepare you for all five areas of the GED exam: Essay/Writing, Social Studies, Interpreting Literature/Arts, Science, and Mathematics. Students take a predictor test during the first class. A non-refundable testing fee of $29 is included in the cost of the course.
