This course examines the physical effects <strong>of</strong> alcohol and<br />

drugs on the human body. Students will learn how the<br />

human body processes drugs and alcohol beginning with<br />

the administration <strong>of</strong> the drug and ingestion <strong>of</strong> alcohol to<br />

their elimination.<br />

nursing home. Course work includes Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals <strong>of</strong> Patient Care and a CNA internship.<br />

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE PROGRAM<br />

Already an LPN, CNA, or other patient care pr<strong>of</strong>essional? This course can add to your skill set, teaching you the basic<br />

procedures used for obtaining blood from veins and capillaries. For those already employed as phlebotomists, this course<br />

Students will also learn about normal heart rhythm and<br />

arrhythmia, basic cardiac physiology, as well as how to<br />

troubleshoot technical problems with an ECG/EKG.<br />

RESUSCITATION TRAINING<br />

<strong>The</strong> value <strong>of</strong> this course is only understood when CPR is<br />

needed – and then it is priceless. <strong>The</strong> course teaches you<br />

the skills necessary to help an adult who has stopped<br />

breathing, is choking or having a heart attack, or whose<br />

pulse has stopped. Upon successful completion <strong>of</strong> the course<br />

you will receive an adult CPR license, valid for one year.<br />
