* A needle system is a group of needles made to fit specific<br />

sewing machines. All needles in a system are of the same<br />

length and shank size but are of various diameters. Lower<br />

numbers (e.g. 160) are narrower or thinner needles used<br />

for lighter materials. Higher numbers (e.g. 250) indicate<br />

needles of thicker diameter, used for heavier materials.<br />

Match your needle system to your machine and your needle<br />

size to your product. S, D and LR points are for leather,<br />

R points for nylon. Using bobbin thread a size smaller than<br />

the top thread results in tighter stitching.<br />
