Function to Download Java Policy File 64 The file type 'policy' is not a normal registered file type and this is not required for successful download of the IESO '.java.policy' file. To download the file, the user must choose the 'Save as type' option "All Files" and choose the appropriate C:\Documents and Settings\UserID directory path. The file name must not be changed. Participant Workstation, Network & Security Figure 2-16: File type Selection to Download Java Policy File 65 Prior or after download, Windows XP and Vista users (or administrators) may create a 'policy' document file type, extension to make the purpose of the file more explicit. To do so, after opening Windows Explorer (or any window), select the 'Tools' menu, then 'Folder Options…' and then the 'File Types' tab selection. See Figure 2-17 for the resultant window.
