IX.<br />
MAIN RECOMMENDATIONS<br />
a) The reinforcement of Reproductive Health (RH) service coverage through the following<br />
activities:<br />
- Reinforcement of the construction, rehabilitation and equipment programme of<br />
maternities, post and health centers in order <strong>to</strong> offer qualitative RH services and be<br />
accessible <strong>to</strong> the population and pregnant women.<br />
- Redynamisation of the advanced strategy in the community for pre natal<br />
consultation (PNC), Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and family<br />
planning (FP) consultations in order <strong>to</strong> improve the utilisation of RH services by the<br />
population in rural and unaccessible areas.<br />
- Improvement of transfer services <strong>to</strong> equip maternities on surgeon in order <strong>to</strong><br />
conduct caesarian operations, <strong>to</strong> facilitate the transport of women with delivery<br />
complications and <strong>to</strong> extend communication links at different level of health<br />
pyramide.<br />
b) Reinforcement of operative capacities of the post and health centers as well as<br />
maternities through the following activities:<br />
- Provision of inputs (drugs and equipment) as well as the armonisation of purchase<br />
and distribution actions for RH products at different RH partners level.<br />
- Training of personnel on obstetric cares <strong>to</strong> provide the ncessary staff <strong>to</strong> post, health<br />
centers and maternities <strong>to</strong> conduct deliveries and transfer delivery with complications<br />
<strong>to</strong> higher level stages.<br />
- Selection, training and appointment of 120 midwives coming from the differents<br />
districts, up <strong>to</strong> 2010, in order <strong>to</strong> improve quality of Emmergency Obstetric Cares<br />
(EMOC) and reduce the apparition of obstetric fistula.<br />
- Coordination and work agreement between the UNFPA assisted National<br />
Programme for Reproductive Health and the Bata Faculty of Medicine in order <strong>to</strong><br />
participate actively in the utilisation and training of new students (47 students from<br />
the 6 th level) <strong>to</strong> have improved outcomes on women’s reproductive health in<br />
<strong>Equa<strong>to</strong>rial</strong> <strong>Guinea</strong>.<br />
- The development of advocacy activities <strong>to</strong>ward the Ministry of Health and Social<br />
Welfare <strong>to</strong> an equtative distribution of health personnel as well as the motivation of<br />
this personnel <strong>to</strong> the sustainability of the availability of qualitative services.<br />
- To organize training / recyclation activities of traditional midwives <strong>to</strong> promote home<br />
assisted deliveries in rural and non accessible areas.<br />
