c) To develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities as well as an<br />

advocacy on Emmergency Obstetric Cares (EMOC) and obstetric fistula, through the<br />

following activities:<br />

- Operationalisation of 18 IEC distrital teams <strong>to</strong> allow women and the families <strong>to</strong><br />

recognize signs and alert symp<strong>to</strong>ms and pregnancy complications and deliveries and<br />

<strong>to</strong> adopt responsible behaviours <strong>to</strong> avoid obstetric fistula.<br />

- To prioritize advance strategy jointly between health and IEC agents in order <strong>to</strong><br />

increase utilisation of ante natal consultation (ANC) services, family planning (FP)<br />

and information on fistula in terms of causes, cosequences and possibilities of<br />

treatment, through difussion of appropriate messages accessible <strong>to</strong> the population.<br />

- Empowerment of counseilling in health centers and maternities <strong>to</strong> stabilize a real<br />

confidence between women and health personnel ensuring that women are<br />

accepting identification and reparation of obstetric fistula.<br />

- To develop advocacy activities for the mobilisation of ressources <strong>to</strong> allow reparation<br />

and socialeconomic reinsertion of women after obstetric fistula reparations.<br />

- Utilisation of all available communication media that can permit exhaustive detection<br />

of all existing and not yet identified fistula <strong>to</strong> seek for reparation.<br />

d) To promote the stablishment of women groupes and associations <strong>to</strong> improve maternal<br />

health through the following activities:<br />

- To support female and non governemental organisations (NGOs) <strong>to</strong> associate and<br />

join establishment of organisation for the transportation of obstetric emmergencies.<br />

- To put at disposal of women organisations (groups and NGOs) media and<br />

modalities <strong>to</strong> permit the families, when necessary, in the payment of expenses<br />

regarding obstetric cares through a system of activities of generation of incomes<br />

(DJANGUE).<br />

- Mobilisation of men <strong>to</strong> participate in the establishment of female organisations<br />

<strong>to</strong>wards the promotion of Reproductive Health.<br />

e) To warranty reparation and reinsertion of women after obstetric fistula reparations,<br />

through the following activities:<br />

- The application of the elaborated obstetric fistula reparation pro<strong>to</strong>col, including the<br />

mobilisation of a team of specialists on reparation of Addis Abeba and Nigeria <strong>to</strong><br />

reinforce national teams of the regional hospitals of Malabo and Bata.<br />

- The establishment of a psycosocial accompanying plan <strong>to</strong> facilitate social<br />

reinsertion of women after obstetric fistula operations.<br />
