studies. The following pages contain a compilation of useful information that will help you
becoming master of the situation.
The Change
One of the biggest changes from school to university is to be properly informed any time.
Poorly, at university it is not like in school, where letters to your parents and information
material is handed out.
Trust us, it happened more than once, that a
completely unsuspecting and innocent student
was exmatriculated simply because
nobody told that unlucky guy that it was
time to pay the fees for confirmation and
tuition. In other cases exams could not be
written as the student was not registered
and the deadline has been over for some
time. The easiest way to avoid unconvenience
like this is to check your email account
provided by the HS (see page 36) regularlay
and to have a look at the HS’ homepage
and the intranet site.
If you want to find out about something and
you don’t have any idea who to ask, the best
way is mostly to contact the professors of
your student body of your faculty (see from
page 71). In most cases they know the answer
and if not they can redirect your concern.
Also, the secretary of the faculty is a
good place to go to.
Furthermore of importance: Most dates and deadlines are only released by post or email.
Showcases are outdated in principle. The Grades of your exams and testimonials are almost
exclusively available online as well. Read more about this further on under section
QIS.
