Η Μήδεια είναι ένα τροµακτικό πρόσωπο, ίσως κι η πιο
φορτισµένη γυναικεία µορφή στο αρχαίο δράµα, ίσως και σε
όλη την ιστορία του θεάτρου. Αν ψάξω άλλες δύο σαν τη
Μήδεια θα δυσκολευτώ πάρα πολύ.Λες Μήδεια και
ανατριχιάζεις. Η Μήδεια της Wolf είναι άλλη µία απελπισµένη
προσπάθεια να αγγίξουµε αυτά τα πράγµατα που καίνε και
που θα µείνουν πάντα µυστικά.
Για να κάνω τη Μήδεια της Wolf έπρεπε να ξεχάσω τη
Μήδεια του Ευριπίδη. Η Wolf είναι µία γυναίκα του καιρού
της. Είναι µία Ανατολικογερµανίδα του 20ού αιώνα.∆εν είναι
µία Αθηναία του 5ου αιώνα π.Χ.
Στη Μήδεια της Wolf το λέει µε πύρινα γράµµατα ότι είναι
διαφορετική. Έχει άλλο τρόπο που σκέφτεται. Είναι ξένη.
«Εδώ στην Κόρινθο» θα πει, «µία γυναίκα που έχει γνώµη,
είναι βάρβαρη». Ξένος όµως, µπορείς να είσαι και στο ίδιο
σου το σώµα και µες στο σύµπαν µπορείς να είσαι ξένος.
Μέσα στην ηρωίδα της θα δούµε τη γυναίκα του σήµερα και
την ψυχή της συγγραφέως που ξεσκίζεται, µε όλα αυτά που
έγιναν µε την πτώση του υπαρκτού σοσιαλισµού, µε την
ύπνωση κάποιων ελπίδων.

Στέφανος Κοτσίκος
Μαθητής του Καρόλου Κουν στο Θέατρο Τέχνης και του Pierre
Vidal-Naquet στην Ανωτάτη Σχολή Κοινωνικών Επιστηµών του
Παρισιού. Έχει σκηνοθετήσει έργα των Ευριπίδη, Πλαύτου,
Λυκόφρονα, Feydeau, Ionesco, Pirandello, Williams, Brecht, Wolf,
Cocteau, Jacques, Hart/Hauptman, Lazlo, Kovasevich, Simeon,
Nikolitch, Καζαντζάκη, Ρίτσου, Παφίλη, Πιτένη, Κεχαΐδη, Ρέππα-
Παπαθανασίου, στη Γαλλία, την Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο.
Ιωάννα Σιαφκάλη
Γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη και τελείωσε τη ∆ραµατική Σχολή
Κρατικού Θεάτρου Βορείου Ελλάδος. Με το ΘΟΚ έπαιξε σε έργα
των Molière, Brecht, Pirandello, καθώς και άλλα στην Κεντρική
και Παιδική Σκηνή.Το διάστηµα 1983-1986 εργάστηκε στο
∆Η.ΠΕ.ΘΕ. Αγρινίου. Συνεργάστηκε µε το «Θέατρο Ένα» για
δεκαεπτά συνεχή χρόνια σε έργα των T. Williams, A. Strindberg,
Ira Levin, A. Reynolds-M. Buffini. Συνεργάστηκε µε το Ραδιοφωνικό
Ίδρυµα Κύπρου και έχει λάβει µέρος σε τρεις κινηµατογραφικές
ταινίες. Από το 2004 ανήκει στο καλλιτεχνικό δυναµικό του
Θεατρικού Οργανισµού Κύπρου.

Medea is a frightening person, perhaps the most troubled
female figure in both ancient drama and the entire history
of theatre. One will find it very difficult to come across
another woman like Medea. One pronounces the name
Medea and shivers. Medea by Wolf is another desperate
attempt to approach the things that hurt and will remain
forever a secret.
In order to perform Medea by Wolf I had to forget Medea
by Euripides.Wolf is a woman of her time. She is a woman
of the 20th century from Eastern Germany and not
a woman from Athens of the 5th century BC.
Medea by Wolf is clearly different. She has another way
of thought. She is a stranger. She will say,“Here in Corinth,
a woman with an opinion is a stranger”. However one can
be a stranger in one’s own body. One can be a stranger
in the universe.Through the heroine we will see the woman
of today and the writer’s soul which is torn apart with all
that occurred by the fall of socialism and the hypnosis
of many hopes.

Stefanos Kotsikos
He was student of Charles Kun at the Art Theatre and of Pierre
Vidal-Naquet at the Advanced School of Social Sciences in Paris.
He has directed works of Euripides, Lykophron, Feydeau,
Ionesco, Pirandello, Williams, Brecht, Wolf, Cocteau, Jacques,
Hart/Hauptman, Lazlo, Kovasevich, Simeon, Nikolitch,
Kazantzakis, Ritsos, Pafilis, Pitenis, Kechaidis, Reppas-
Papathanassiou, in France, Greece and Cyprus.
Ioanna Shiafkali
She was born in Thessaloniki. She has studied at the Drama
School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece.
She played in works of Molière, Brecht, Pirandello with
the Theatre Organisation of Cyprus and in others at the Central
and Children’s Stage. From 1983 to 1986 she worked at
the Municipal & Regional Theatre of Agrinion. She collaborated
with the ‘Ena Theatre’ for seventeen years in works by
T. Williams, A. Strindberg, Ira Levin, A. Reynolds-M. Buffini.
She collaborated with the Cyprus Radio Institute and has taken
part in three cinema films. From 2004 she belongs to
the artistic potential of the Theatre Organisation of Cyprus.
