Temporization – A Hands on Program

Course Description: Simplification with predictability in crown and bridge
seems hard to achieve unless you have materials and techniques that work
in synchronicity. This program will present systems of impressioning and
temporization that lead to increased productivity and time savings with less
clinical variability. These systems will facilitate insertion of crown and bridge
restorations and veneers with minimal time spent. Also discussed will be tissue
management and how various haemostatic agents affect polyvinyl siloxane
materials and subsequent bonding. The afternoon will be a hands on program
on temporization during which the participants will have the opportunity of
preparing anterior veneer temporaries, a three unit temporary bridge, a single
unit temporary, and if time allows a reduction coping.

• Bite Registrations – why they are a problem for the lab and you
• Temporization for posterior full coverage
• Simple temporization for anterior veneers
• The use of reduction guides and clear silicone matrix for temporization
with light cure composite
PLEASE NOTE: If you wear magnification loupes while practicing,
we recommend you bring them to this hands-on course.
Len Boksman DDS, BSc is the Director of Clinical Affairs at Clinical
Research Dental. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at University of
Western Ontario in 1972, where he also completed his BSc degree in 1984.
From 1972 to 1979, he maintained a private practice in Burlington, Ontario
and during that period he became involved in teaching. From 1979 until
1987 Dr. Boksman was an Associate Professor in the Division of Operative
Dentistry at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. He operated his
private practice in London, Ontario from 1987 to 2005. Dr. Boksman was also
a member of the Editorial Board of REALITY from 1988 to 2003. Dr. Boksman
has published over 100 refereed articles and chapters in dental texts. He
has given numerous international lectures in Restorative Dentistry and has
an extensive list of experiences, distinctions and awards. He has recently
returned to private practice in London, Ontario.
