Your Benefits Guidebook is intended to provide information you need to assist with your
employee benefit selections:
The types of questions you can ask yourself to help you decide which plan(s) are best for
you and your family;
What benefits are available for the 2013 plan year;
What administrative steps you must take to enroll;
How to access your benefits;
Where you can go to get more information or assistance regarding any of the plans
offered by El Paso County.
To take full advantage of the benefits, please take the time to fully consider each of the available
benefit plan options explained in the guidebook.
We have included a benefits telephone directory on the following page for your convenience
when you have benefit questions. Please feel free to contact any of the vendors directly for any
plan-related questions you may have now and throughout the year.
If you have a general question regarding any of the benefit plans, please do not hesitate to call
the EL Paso County EBMS Benefit Division at 719-520-7420, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m.
OPEN ENROLLMENT
Please remember that open enrollment is the only time of the year that you may elect to make
changes to benefit plans without having a Qualifying Life Event.
ABOUT THE BENEFITS GUIDEBOOK
This Guidebook is intended to provide a general overview of all the insurance benefit plans,
including eligibility, cost, contact information and how to use your benefits. Should there be an
inconsistency with any communications regarding these plans the actual Master Plan Documents
will govern. Any information contained herein may be subject to change.
