(64) Saleos [Zaleos] is a great earle, he<br />
appeareth as a gallant [handsomel soldier,<br />
riding on a crocodile, and weareth a dukes<br />
crowne, peaceable, &C.<br />
(65) Vuall [Wall is a great duke and a<br />
strong, he is seene as a great and terrible<br />
dromedarie, but in humane forme, he<br />
soundeth out in a base [deep] voice the<br />
LEgyptian toong. This man above all other<br />
procureth the especialllove ofwomen,<br />
and knoweth things present, past, and to<br />
come, procuring the love offreends and<br />
foes, he was of the order of potestats, and<br />
govemeth thirtie seven legions.<br />
(66) Haagenti is a great president,<br />
appearing like a great bull, having the<br />
wings of a griphen, but when he taketh<br />
humane shape, he maketh a man wise in<br />
everie thing, he changeth all mettals into<br />
gold, and changeth wine and water the<br />
one into the other, and commandeth as<br />
manie legions as Zagan.<br />
(67) Phoenix is a great marquesse,<br />
appearing like the bird Phoenix, having a<br />
childs voice: but before he standeth still<br />
before the conjuror, he singeth manie<br />
sweet notes. Then the exorcist with his<br />
companions must beware he give no eare<br />
to the me1odie, but must by and by bid<br />
him put on humane shape; then will he<br />
speake marvellouslie of all woonderfull<br />
sciences. He is an excellent poet, and<br />
obedient, he hopeth to retume to the<br />
seventh throne after a thousand two<br />
hundreth yeares, and govemeth twentie<br />
legions.
