traditionally<br />

turned to <strong>Boys'</strong><br />

<strong>Brigade</strong> to support<br />

their work is<br />

critical if we<br />

are to reach<br />

more children<br />

and young people.<br />

he Brierley Research indicated<br />

that there was still a perception<br />

that BB was old fashioned and<br />

inflexible and although we know<br />

this isn’t the case, if this is the<br />

perception then we have to look<br />

at different ways of getting our<br />

message across.<br />

Advertising in the church press can be<br />

costly and there are not always simple<br />

tangible results by which to measure<br />

success. However, in the last year we<br />

have started more Companies than in the<br />

total of the previous three years and there<br />

are many positive signs of resurgence in<br />

interest in what BB can offer.<br />

Further Engage a Generation<br />

Conferences are to be held targeting<br />

specific locations and these augment<br />

the work done by development workers,<br />

locally employed staff and key volunteers<br />

in promoting the work of the <strong>Brigade</strong>.<br />

Again, these are costly and we are<br />

grateful to those funders who have<br />

supported this campaign.<br />

All of us can help promote BB in a<br />

constructive way. At Headquarters we<br />

hear countless stories of young lives<br />

changed through membership and of the<br />

positive impact of Companies on local<br />

communities and churches. We are going<br />

to start passing on these accounts to the<br />

denominational press and encourage you<br />

to do the same. <strong>The</strong> greatest advert for<br />

any Company is a member telling their<br />

friends how great it is to belong and the<br />

friend then wanting to be a part. Let’s<br />

all tell the churches the great things that<br />

God is doing through BB and continue to<br />

pray that the movement can be a real tool<br />

of mission in many new churches.<br />
