Casey Hoerig, Systems Specialist, exemplifies the competency and responsiveness of our college computer support group. Casey earned his BS degree in Computer Science from OSU in 2005. In his first real ‘full-time’ job, Casey has already demonstrated his understanding of the connection between a smooth technical backdrop and fulfilling the mission of an organization. Casey provides support for computing in the college and is particularly excited to be working with students on their research activities. He is challenged by the many troubleshooting computer problems he encounters every day and the new, emerging, technologies flooding the market place. It is no wonder Casey was selected for the Outstanding Staff Award for 2006/2007. Nomination letters included such comments from our staff: ‘… he actually listens to me’ and ‘…he goes the extra mile’ and ’…brings a speed to bear to solving computer problems that can justly be compared with Tedd Ginn’s speed on the football field’. 27
