Welcome Our academic, educational, research, and outreach activities described in this 2006-2007 report are abundant and exceptional. These accomplishments are reflections of the high quality faculty, students, researchers, staff and alumni of the College. Our PharmD programs in the College are vibrant and strong. We have 460 PharmD students enrolled in the entry-level program, and 86 students are enrolled in our nontraditional PharmD (NTPD) program. The College’s programming for undergraduate students has never been stronger in the BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences program, with 479 students enrolled as majors in Autumn Quarter 2006. Our graduate programs in the College of Pharmacy continue the tradition of excellence, with 97 students enrolled in the areas of medicinal Dean Robert W. Brueggemeier chemistry and pharmacognosy, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical administration. The total number of students enrolled in the College during the 2006-2007 academic year was 1,122, and the faculty and staff have responded in an exemplary fashion to this largest enrollment in the College’s history. Excellent disciplinary research and exciting interdisciplinary research in drug discovery, drug action, drug delivery, drug development, medication safety, and therapeutic outcomes are being led by our faculty. Faculty, PharmD students, and residents engage in training and delivery of therapeutic services in various area hospitals, clinics, ambulatory/community practice settings, and exciting innovative practice models of medication therapy management. Stimulating outreach and engagement activities by faculty, students, and staff occur at the regional, national, and international levels. Our Alumni Society continues its outstanding work to support the College’s students and faculty, and the advisory groups provide important feedback on the College’s initiatives and directions. Our collective efforts maintain The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy among the top pharmacy schools in the nation.
