Medical Plan Options
All of our medical plans provide you with preventive care and comprehensive
coverage to protect you in case of a serious accident or illness. All plans include
prescription drug and behavioral health coverage. The key differences are how you
pay for services during the year and the plan administrator. There are three types of
medical plans available.
Medical Plan Options: Which Plan Is Right for You?
Health Fund
Plan = lower
paycheck
deductions +
help paying your
deductible
Health Fund Plan You pay lower paycheck deductions and a higher deductible,
shifting costs to when you actually use care. You can choose the Health
Reimbursement Account or the Health Savings Account to help you pay for health
care expenses. Pitney Bowes contributes money to the account, that you can use to
help pay for the deductible.
PPO Plan You pay a higher fixed cost through paycheck deductions regardless of how
much care you use. You can choose the Health Care Account to help you pay for health
care expenses.
HMO Plan You pay a higher fixed cost through paycheck deductions regardless of
how much care you use. Coverage is limited to inside the HMO network (except in
certain emergencies). The HMO option is available only in certain states.* You can
choose the Health Care Account to help you pay for health care expenses.
*If you live in certain parts of CA, CO, GA, HI, OR, WA or the Mid-Atlantic area, you have an HMO option with Kaiser and/or
Group Health Cooperative.
If you live outside the service area for Cigna, UHC, and an HMO, your medical plan option is the Out-of-Area Plan. You will
receive separate details on the plan or you can visit www.pbprojectliving.com.
Take time to consider your needs, your budget and what’s most important to you—like
monthly paycheck deductions, flexibility in providers and out-of-pocket costs—before
you choose your medical plan.
