6. Collection<br />
The <strong>Gallery</strong> has an extensive collection <strong>of</strong> visual arts, particularly Canadian art. The <strong>Gallery</strong>’s collection comprises some 37,200<br />
works <strong>of</strong> art. In addition, CMCP has 161,150 pieces in its collection. The main collecting areas are:<br />
• Canadian Art, including Indigenous Art<br />
• Contemporary Art<br />
• American, European and Asian Art<br />
• 20th Century Modern Art<br />
• Photographs<br />
• Prints and Drawings<br />
The <strong>Gallery</strong> acquires works <strong>of</strong> art by purchase, gift and bequest. Acquisitions in the year are as follows:<br />
