Local Law No. 1<br />
Notice is hereby given that at a meeting<br />
of the Council of the South Gippsland Shire<br />
held on 21 November 2007, Council proposed<br />
to make a local law titled General Local Law<br />
(Amendment No. 1) Local Law No. 1 pursuant<br />
to the provisions of the Local <strong>Government</strong> Act<br />
1989.<br />
The objective of this Local Law amendment<br />
is to amend General Local Law No. 1 to address<br />
the need for better recreation vehicle regulation<br />
in various areas of the Municipality.<br />
A copy of the proposed local law amendment<br />
can be obtained free of charge from the Shire<br />
Offices, Smith Street, Leongatha, during office<br />
hours from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to<br />
Friday.<br />
Written submissions relating to the proposed<br />
local law amendment by any person affected by<br />
it may be made under section 223 of the Local<br />
<strong>Government</strong> Act 1989 and must be received<br />
by the Council within 30 days of publication of<br />
this notice.<br />

New Dog Control Regulations in<br />
Surf Coast Shire<br />
Surf Coast Shire Council, at its meeting<br />
held on Tuesday 4 December 2007, resolved to<br />
impose conditions in relation to the presence<br />
of dogs in public places within the municipal<br />
district of the Council, pursuant to section 26 of<br />
the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals<br />
Act 1994.<br />
The conditions imposed include:<br />
Within the Town Boundary, in public areas,<br />
dogs are to be on leash at all times unless<br />
otherwise specified, for the townships of<br />
Torquay, Jan Juc, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet,<br />
Fairhaven/Moggs Creek, Lorne, Deans<br />
Marsh, Moriac and Winchelsea.<br />
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted<br />
off-leash at all times, provided they are kept<br />
under effective control.<br />
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted<br />
off-leash except when organised events are<br />
occurring or being prepared for.<br />
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted<br />
in accordance with the following times and<br />
conditions:<br />
1 December to 28 February and Easter (of<br />
each year)<br />
9.00 am to 7.00 pm dogs prohibited, except<br />
on defined pathways where they must be on<br />
a leash,<br />
7.00 pm to 9.00 am dogs permitted in these<br />
areas off leash but under effective control.<br />
Outside the given dates<br />
Dogs are permitted off leash but under<br />
effective control.<br />
Within designated areas, dogs are not<br />
permitted, with the exception of defined<br />
pathways, where they must be on a leash.<br />
Dogs are also prohibited in all fenced<br />
dune and vegetation areas, and children’s<br />
playgrounds.<br />

The Golden Plains Shire Council has<br />
prepared Amendment C37 to the Golden Plains<br />
Planning Scheme.<br />
In accordance with section 8A(3) of the<br />
Planning and Environment Act 1987, the<br />
Minister for Planning authorised the Golden<br />
Plains Shire Council as planning authority to<br />
prepare the Amendment.<br />
The land affected by the Amendment is the<br />
township of Inverleigh.<br />
The Amendment proposes to implement the<br />
Inverleigh Structure Plan Review, 2005 which<br />
provides guidance for future growth, land use<br />
and development in Inverleigh.
