Proposed General Local Law
(Amendment No. 1)
Local Law No. 1
Notice is hereby given that at a meeting
of the Council of the South Gippsland Shire
held on 21 November 2007, Council proposed
to make a local law titled General Local Law
(Amendment No. 1) Local Law No. 1 pursuant
to the provisions of the Local Government Act
1989.
The objective of this Local Law amendment
is to amend General Local Law No. 1 to address
the need for better recreation vehicle regulation
in various areas of the Municipality.
A copy of the proposed local law amendment
can be obtained free of charge from the Shire
Offices, Smith Street, Leongatha, during office
hours from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to
Friday.
Written submissions relating to the proposed
local law amendment by any person affected by
it may be made under section 223 of the Local
Government Act 1989 and must be received
by the Council within 30 days of publication of
this notice.

Act 1994
New Dog Control Regulations in
Surf Coast Shire
Surf Coast Shire Council, at its meeting
held on Tuesday 4 December 2007, resolved to
impose conditions in relation to the presence
of dogs in public places within the municipal
district of the Council, pursuant to section 26 of
the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals
Act 1994.
The conditions imposed include:
Within the Town Boundary, in public areas,
dogs are to be on leash at all times unless
otherwise specified, for the townships of
Torquay, Jan Juc, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet,
Fairhaven/Moggs Creek, Lorne, Deans
Marsh, Moriac and Winchelsea.
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted
off-leash at all times, provided they are kept
under effective control.
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted
off-leash except when organised events are
occurring or being prepared for.
Within designated areas, dogs are permitted
in accordance with the following times and
conditions:
1 December to 28 February and Easter (of
each year)
9.00 am to 7.00 pm dogs prohibited, except
on defined pathways where they must be on
a leash,
7.00 pm to 9.00 am dogs permitted in these
areas off leash but under effective control.
Outside the given dates
Dogs are permitted off leash but under
effective control.
Within designated areas, dogs are not
permitted, with the exception of defined
pathways, where they must be on a leash.
Dogs are also prohibited in all fenced
dune and vegetation areas, and children’s
playgrounds.

Notice of Preparation of Amendment
Amendment C37
Authorisation A842
The Golden Plains Shire Council has
prepared Amendment C37 to the Golden Plains
Planning Scheme.
In accordance with section 8A(3) of the
Planning and Environment Act 1987, the
Minister for Planning authorised the Golden
Plains Shire Council as planning authority to
prepare the Amendment.
The land affected by the Amendment is the
township of Inverleigh.
The Amendment proposes to implement the
Inverleigh Structure Plan Review, 2005 which
provides guidance for future growth, land use
and development in Inverleigh.
