Detroit (coach’s decision), ending a streak of 73 consecutive<br />
games started…Led the team with 12 sacks, good for<br />
sixth in the NFC and tied for 11th in the <strong>NFL</strong>, among 91<br />
tackles (57 solo), plus two passes defensed, one fumble<br />
recovery and one forced fumble…Was named ‘NFC Defensive<br />
Player of the Month’ for October amidst a streak<br />
of seven straight contests with at least one-half sack, a<br />
stretch that tied for the longest in team history since sacks<br />
became an official statistic in 1982 (Tony Bennett, seven<br />
games, 1992)…Vs. Washington (Oct. 14): Tied career<br />
best with season-high 11 tackles (nine solo), including two<br />
sacks and a tackle for loss. In the fourth quarter stopped<br />
Clinton Portis for a 4-yard loss on a short pass play; on the<br />
next play, sacked Jason Campbell on third down and forced<br />
a punt. On Washington’s final drive, sacked Campbell again,<br />
helping the Packers secure a 17-14 victory…At Denver<br />
(Oct. 29): Tied a career high with three sacks (the fourth<br />
three-sack game of his career), among six total tackles.<br />
His first sack came in the second quarter, taking down Jay<br />
Cutler for a 10-yard loss. Took down Cutler again on thirdand-14<br />
in the third quarter, forcing a punt. On his third and<br />
final sack, relentlessly pursued WR Brandon Marshall on a<br />
busted trick play, eventually taking him down for a 3-yard<br />
loss…At Kansas City (Nov. 4): Sacked Damon Huard<br />
on third-and-5 in the first quarter, leading to a punt and<br />
extending his sacks streak to seven games, the longest of<br />
his career…Pro Bowl: Recorded three tackles, including<br />
an 11-yard sack of Cleveland QB Derek Anderson.<br />
2006<br />
After being rewarded with a four-year contract<br />
extension on the eve of free agency, had his best<br />
season as a professional…First-time Pro Bowler started all<br />
16 games at left defensive end and led the NFC with 15½<br />
sacks, third-most in Packers history, second in the <strong>NFL</strong> in<br />
2006 behind San Diego’s Shawne Merriman (17), and more<br />
than double his previous career high of 6½, set in 2005…<br />
His career-high 113 tackles (84 solo) ranked third on the<br />
team and stood as the most single-season stops ever recorded<br />
by a Green Bay lineman; Johnson (107 in 1993)<br />
held the previous record…Also notched a pass defensed,<br />
three forced fumbles and one recovery…Garnered All-NFC<br />
honors from Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers Association<br />
and second-team All-Pro recognition from The<br />

(Sept. 17): Recorded second career three-sack<br />
game, joining Gbaja-Biamila (5), Reggie White (3), Harris<br />
(2) and Bryce Paup (2) as one of five individuals in Packers<br />
history with multiple three-sack games. First sack on<br />
Saints’ opening drive included forced fumble and fumble<br />
recovery, setting up a Greg Jennings TD pass. Added a<br />
tackle for loss on Reggie Bush and another forced fumble<br />
on a sack (recovered by New Orleans)…Vs. Arizona<br />
(Oct. 29): Earned the first of two NFC Defensive Player of<br />
the Week honors with two sacks of Matt Leinart in a fiveplay<br />
span…At Buffalo (Nov. 5): Sacked J.P. Losman<br />
among 10 tackles, including eight solo to tie his career<br />
high…At Minnesota (Nov. 12): Combined with Jenkins<br />
to sack Brad Johnson just before the end of the first half,<br />
extending his sacks streak to six games, longest in a single<br />

Week again for a three-sack performance, the third of his<br />
career and second against the Vikings. Joined White (1998)<br />
as the only Packers to win the defensive weekly honor twice<br />
in the same season...Pro Bowl: Recorded four tackles.<br />
2005<br />
Started all 16 games (at left defensive end) for<br />
the second straight year and posted then-career<br />
highs with 6½ sacks and 105 tackles (62 solo)…In the<br />
<strong>NFL</strong>, only one other defensive lineman had more tackles,<br />
eventual teammate Pickett…His tackles tied for second<br />
on the team overall…Also forced three fumbles (over two<br />
consecutive games) and broke up a pass…Voted to USA<br />
Today’s ‘All-Joe Team,’ after holding the Packers’ sack<br />
lead for much of the season…Led all defensive linemen<br />
by seeing action on 93.6 percent of the defensive snaps…<br />
Vs. Minnesota (Nov. 21): On a Monday night, notched<br />
his first three-sack game, which included eight tackles (five<br />
solo), two forced fumbles and a deflected pass. All three<br />
sacks were of Brad Johnson, who twice fumbled the ball<br />
(the second fumble was recovered by Gbaja-Biamila)…At<br />
Philadelphia (Nov. 27): Finished with eight tackles (five<br />
solo) and one forced fumble, tackling RB Lamar Gordon<br />
from behind and stripping the ball (recovered by LB Na’il<br />
Diggs)…Vs. Detroit (Dec. 11): Turned in a season-high<br />
10 tackles (three solo), one short of his career best.<br />
2004<br />
Started all 16 games for the first time, and also<br />
opened in NFC Wild Card playoff game…Led<br />
Green Bay defensive linemen with 77 tackles (53 solo)<br />
and tied for second on the team with 4½ sacks…Including<br />
playoff game, recorded five-or-more tackles in a game 10<br />
times…Also recovered one fumble, forced two others and<br />
broke up a career-best three passes…At Carolina (Sept.<br />
13): Recovered a momentum-turning fumble on the second<br />
play after halftime, picking up an aborted Delhomme<br />
handoff, returning it 3 yards to the Carolina 31; seven plays<br />
later the Packers scored a touchdown for a 17-7 lead in the<br />
eventual 24-14 triumph over the defending NFC champions…Vs.<br />
N.Y. Giants (Oct. 3): Established career highs<br />
in total (11) and solo (eight) tackles, including a sack of<br />
Kurt Warner…At Philadelphia (Dec. 5): Tallied seven<br />
tackles (five solo), including a sack of Donovan McNabb.<br />
On the play following his sack, stopped Eagles RB Brian<br />
Westbrook for a 2-yard loss, forcing a third-and-long (Philadelphia<br />
had to settle for a field goal two plays later)…At<br />
Minnesota (Dec. 24): Led Green Bay defensive linemen<br />
with five tackles (four solo) in division-clinching triumph.<br />
2003<br />
Played in 12 regular-season games, starting 10,<br />
plus both playoff matchups…Saw reserve duty<br />
the first two weeks of the season, but sprained his left<br />
ankle in Week 2 and was inactive for a month…Jumped<br />
right from the inactive list back into the starting lineup in<br />
Week 7, replacing Joe Johnson, who had torn his quadriceps<br />
a week earlier, and remained the starter the rest of<br />
the season…Tied (with Gbaja-Biamila) for the team lead in<br />
forced fumbles with three…Also contributed 38 tackles,<br />
including two sacks, along with one fumble recovery and<br />
Aaron Kampman, twice a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro from the Associated Press, has be<strong>com</strong>e one of the most feared<br />
