In keeping with the commitment to give Science Vision a thematic character,<br />

COMSATS brought out one thematic issue under the 15 Volume of Science Vision.<br />

The theme given to this issue was “Environmental Challenges for the Developing<br />

Countries”.<br />

COMSATS’Series of Publications on Science and Technology<br />

This series of publications is intended to disseminate the<br />

intellectual material of COMSATS’ capacity-building events,<br />

such as conferences and seminars held in its Member<br />

States. The proceedings of two collaborative events of<br />

COMSATS, namely ‘National Seminar on Policies and<br />

Strategies for Successful Implementation of Employment<br />

Generating Programmes in Renewable Energies,<br />

Biotechnology, Agriculture, Environment and ICTs’ and<br />

‘National Meeting on Challenges for Socio-economic<br />

Development in Pakistan: Role of Science and Technology’<br />

held in August and October 2009, respectively, have been<br />

compiled during <strong>2010</strong>. The latter was published as Volume<br />

14 of the Series with a publication date of June <strong>2010</strong>. This<br />

edition mainly comprised the following:<br />

Technical presentations of participants on various<br />

topics of the theme of the event;<br />

Field-wise identified socio-economic problems and<br />

COMSATS’Website<br />

COMSATS’ official website (www.comsats.org) has been made to undergo<br />

considerable changes in terms of its content, lay out and presentation, in order to<br />

make it look current and dynamic, as well as to provide ease in navigation. The slight<br />

re-distribution of<br />

content, enhanced<br />

visuals and addedupdates<br />

have<br />

enabled the website<br />

to provide a<br />

convenient reading<br />

and systematic<br />

outreach to the<br />

n e c e s s a r y<br />

information. The<br />

website was given a<br />

new and improved<br />

outlook at the turn of<br />

the year.<br />
