Design your own look and be your own stylist at this fashion-forward
camp. Learn sewing, crafting and designing
techniques to transform old and everyday items into
new treasures. Turn a pair of canvas shoes into wearable
art and make your own sketchbook for recording
your creations. Then strut down the runway in your new
duds during the end-of-the-week fashion show.

Fantastical Fun
Grades K-3; DCA/CITs: Grades 7-12
Build fairy huts or enchanted castles and dance with
dragons or unicorns at a magical camp for imaginative
campers. Create whimsical costumes to wear while you
learn basic ballet moves and work on the Art of Ballet
patch. Dream up your own fairy tale with your new camp
friends and bring it to life with dramatic play, interpretive
dance or bookmaking. Games, crafts and songs are part
of each charmed day.

For the Love of Animals
K-5; DCA/CITs: Grades 7-12
Calling all critter-crazy campers: Spend two hours at
the Escondido Humane Society each day, where you’ll
get to know different kinds of pets and how to care for
them. Plus, learn about careers in animal care and
education from professionals in those fields. Enjoy
traditional camp activities with a zoological twist and
work toward the Animals badge for your age level.
New this year: Drop off and pick up your camper at Girl
Scouts’ Escondido Program Center (EPC) or Balboa
Campus. Campers will ride a bus to the Escondido
Humane Society for the two-hour program, then return
to EPC for more animal-themed fun!

Girls Empowered to Make Movies
(G.E.M.M.)
Grades 7-12
Through the power of film, express yourself and explore
issues that concern you. Learn how to use state-of-theart
equipment and software. Gain hands-on experience
in every aspect of filmmaking, including directing,
cinematography, writing, editing, sound mixing, lighting
and acting. Work in small groups to write a script, cast
roles and plan props and locations. Present your
masterpiece at a screening on Friday.

Girls of Greatness: Money Matters
Grades 1-7; DCA/CITs: Grades 8-12
Learn to be a money whiz with the “Girls of Greatness!”
Compare needs and wants, learn how to budget, make
sound purchasing decisions, consider investing and
practice philanthropy. Swim, visit the animal shelter,
make piggy banks and wallets and play store. Go on a
price tag scavenger hunt and shop with your own “day
camp bucks.” Work toward the Financial Literacy badge
for your age level.
