More Than 80 NPs & PAs Provide Care Across Specialties

➼ UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO (UNM)
Hospitals provides quality care to citizens of
Albuquerque and specialized care to patients of
all ages throughout New Mexico via the UNM
Health System, including UNM School of
Medicine, College of Nursing and Pharmacy
and the UNM Medical Group.
The hospital employs more than 80 APRNs
and PAs who work in more than 30 primary
care and specialty care clinics associated with
University of New Mexico Hospitals. Staff
APRNs and PAs work in more than 20 specialties
including, but not limited to, primary care,
family planning, women’s health, orthopedics,
sports medicine, plastics, rheumatology, adult
and pediatric neurology, adult and pediatric
cardiology, urology, endoscopy, and diabetes.
“We are unique in that we are a teaching
facility, including medical assistants, nursing
students, advanced practice registered nurses,
physician assistants, medical residents and
other disciplines,” said Kori Kindred, BSN,
MSN, CFNP, DNP-S, executive director of
ambulatory providers at UNM Hospitals.
“We also pride ourselves on our diversity,
ethnicity and inclusion department and have a
very strong interpreter services department
using live interpreters, video monitors and of
course, access to the interpreter phones.”
Kindred is seeking to hire six full-time PAs
or APRNs with CPR certification for primary
care positions at Southwest Mesa Clinic,
Westside Clinic, After Hours Clinic and
Internal Medicine Discharge Clinic. Specialty
positions are open in the disciplines of orthospine,
neurology, rheumatology, hepatitis C
and pain management.
The ideal candidates will be strong team
players with a positive attitude and flexibility.

in our primary care clinics,” Kindred said.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
"We provide additional training and mentoring
for new graduates and offer them time in
specialty clinics if additional training is needed,”
Kindred said.
