"Take Down," which it is distributing

his invitation to exhibitors, stated: " 'Take

Down.' a PG film, will have you and your
audiences up in your seats cheering a group
of high school losers whose destiny it is to
win, win, win."
"The Thief of Bagdad," in revival at the
Key Theatre in Georgetown, "offers local
moviegoers a rare opportunity to compare
the art of special effects across a generation,"
observed the Post's critic Gary Arnold.
" 'Superman'," continued Arnold,
"represents the present summit of craftsmanship
in the adventure-fantasy genre,
and while some techniques have improved
remarkably, process work and flying illusions
in particular, there's an antique pleasure
involved in being able to observe the
state of the art as it used to be."
William Oates, owner of the Cinema Follies
Theatre, which was gutted by fire, killing
eight persons in October 1977, will go
on trial March 13. Oates has been charged
with 16 fire safety and building code violations.
If convicted by the non-jury trial,
Oates could receive for each misdeamenor
count $300 fine and 10 days in jail. Some
of the fire victims' families have filed suit
for civil damages against Oates and the Dis-
"To Fly," a film produced by Francis

Son, makers of Johnson's Wax. financed
"Living Planet," which cost about $1,750.-
000. "Living Planet" is described as dramatizing
"man's capacity in this country to see
the earth for the first time from space, and
gives fresh perspective to sights from the
Bertrand Blier's "Get Out Your Handkerchiefs,"

before the Washington Film Council. The
luncheon program Monday, Jan. 8, also included
a screening excerpted from a new
documentary portrait of Yves Montand.
Concorde, the giant Air France plane,
and French star Alain Delon with director
David Lowell Rich spent a day here at
Dulles Airport shooting "Airport 79—Concorde,"
a Jennings Lang production for
Universal release. Concorde was permitted
to be used only three days during the filmmaking.

'Wanderers' Sequences Are
Shot at New Jersey Sites
