Dallas is back at his desk after visiting
California to attend a Group I Films salesdistribution
conference. During the meetings.
Prichard screened portions of four of
Group I's 1979 releases, and heard an address
by company president Brandon Chase
who outlined Group Ts production plans
for the next 18 months. Among the pictures
he screened were "The Psychic," starring
Jennifer O'Neill; the science-fiction
thriller "The Plague," with Kate Rcid;
"Charlie and the Hooker," and "The
Best," starring Gloria Guida. Jack Leff,
Group I general sales manager, hosted the
sessions which were held at the Century
Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

"North Dallas 40" will begin sometime in
February instead of in January as was previously
announced. Nick Nolte will star in
the movie.

feature' films during 1978. He has selected
his list of ten best and ten worst films of

"Blue Collar," "Who'll Stop the Rain", !

Stars Help Raise $100,000
At Three 'Valley' Premieres
DALLAS—Stars Ronee Blakley, Freddy
Fender and Scott Glenn attended the benefit
premieres of RGV Pictures' "She Came
to the Valley" which took place in the
Rio Grande Valley Jan. 11 in three theatres,
the Majestic in Brownsville, the Rialto}
in Harlingden and the United Artists Com-j
plex in McAllen. The $100,000 raised will

go to the Cleo Dawson Foundation.
Produced by Albert Band and Frank Ray
Perilli, the picture about the Texas border
country is based on the novel by Dr. Cleo
Dawson and was filmed entirely in the Rio
Grande Valley, financed by Texas money.
Also attending the premiere in addition
to Band, Perilli and Dawson will be executive
producer Robert S. Bremson, RGV
Pictures' executive vice-president W.T. Ellis
and RGV president William Duncan.
Marketing and distribution of "She Came
to the Valley" is being handled by Leon
Roth, executive vice-president for Max E.
Youngstein Enterprises.
