Applications
Have you ever looked
out of your window
and been faced with
the sight of grim, depressing
rooftops? The overwhelming
picture is usually dreary town roofs in various shades of murky
reds, dirty greys and boring browns. But now it’s really easy to
things up. Moss, herbs, bushes, shrubs and even flowers and
cacti are actually the simplest thing in the world to grow on tiles.
It’s all a matter of effective insulation. And once again,
ELASTOGRAN is way out in front with its hard foam Elastopor ® and heavy rain. On flat roofs,
you can even grow herbaceous
perennials, bushes
and trees.
Unlike other greening methods, this technique needs fewer construction
layers and is long lasting and simple to install. Laying
. and roof construction are the same as for normal tiled roofs. For
optimum heat insulation, roof elements can be sandwiched with
Adding some color
a polyurethane core and attached to the roof beams. The hard
to your roof
foam system Elastopor
atka Kunststoffverarbeitung Plc. of Lohne, Germany, has developed
a new green-roof technique in collaboration with
ELASTOGRAN. This system is for flat and steep roofs, with a
synthetic material underlay for plants to grown on. Traditionally,
plants grow directly on the roof cladding, but atka has developed
a different approach. Various types of plants can be sown on a
mineral substrate, which forms a culture medium that stays
green all year. This is especially suitable for low-growing plants
like moss, sedum and herbs, that cope well with frost, dryness
® Oh, how green is my roof! And in the front parlor, the insulation material
Elastopor
H guarantees high insulation combined
with low weight.
Insulation elements with flexible, diffusion-promoting coatings
can be used on steep and flat roofs as well as areas subject to
heavy load. Green roofs with a polyurethane underlay are perfect
as the combination of materials really enhances heat and cold
insulation and helps with energy savings. Dust and harmful
chemicals are bound, sound is dampened and electro-smog
avoided, leading to a lasting improvement in room air condition.
For industrial buildings, warehouses or milking plants, green
roofs ensure balanced air conditions all year round.
The future’s
green
