Recent E&P Activity <strong>in</strong> Mesozoic Bas<strong>in</strong>s<br />
• Production. Presently<br />
Presently NL production is obta<strong>in</strong>ed from<br />
Hibernia, Terra Nova and White Rose fields <strong>in</strong> the <strong>Jeanne</strong><br />
d’Arc Bas<strong>in</strong>. New developments are carried out at the giant<br />
and complex Hebron oil field and at the smaller satellite<br />
fields North Amethyst, West White Rose and Hibernia South<br />
<strong>Exploration</strong>. In the past 5 years, exploration <strong>in</strong> the<br />
Mesozoic bas<strong>in</strong>s consisted of 2D and 3D seismic data<br />
acquisition, various EMCS surveys and drill<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
– <strong>Exploration</strong> Drill<strong>in</strong>g took place <strong>in</strong> the <strong>Jeanne</strong> d’Arc, d<br />
Flemish<br />
Pass and East Orphan bas<strong>in</strong>s. No drill<strong>in</strong>g has yet tak<strong>in</strong>g place<br />
<strong>in</strong> the Laurentian and Hopedale bas<strong>in</strong>s.<br />
– The Mesozoic bas<strong>in</strong>s have also seen new exploration licens<strong>in</strong>g<br />
or consolidation of older issued ELs. As the spr<strong>in</strong>g of 2009<br />
there was $872,756,736 <strong>in</strong> exploration commitments to be<br />
undertaken by <strong>in</strong>terest owners <strong>in</strong> these bas<strong>in</strong>s<br />
• <strong>Exploration</strong>.<br />
