Teen Living 7015<br />
Prerequisite: None<br />
Students in this class learn how to get along and get ahead in<br />
an adult world. Topics include: staying healthy through proper<br />
nutrition and preventive medical care, becoming job-ready, managing<br />
personal finances, and building a family and raising children.<br />
Through simulated experiences, students practice the skills they will<br />
need to fulfill their responsibilities at home and in the community.<br />
Foods I - Fundamentals 7045<br />
Prerequisite: None<br />
This course examines the nutritional needs of human beings<br />
with a special focus on how diet impacts health. Students learn<br />
kitchen and meal management along with food preparation.<br />
Culinary Arts and Hospitality I 7<strong>12</strong>1<br />
Prerequisite: Foods I is recommended. Students will take the exam<br />
for the SERVSAFE Credential from the NRA (Students earn 2 credits<br />
for this course.)<br />
Students learn how a commercial kitchen operates. They will learn<br />
how to use the equipment, employ different methods for food<br />
production, and understand service activities in both the back and<br />
the front of the "house." In preparation for the ServSafe exam,<br />
student study sanitation and safety for basic food preparation.<br />
Culinary Arts and Hospitality II 7<strong>12</strong>2 (Completer <strong>Course</strong>)<br />
Prerequisite: Culinary Arts & Hospitality I<br />
(Students earn 2 credits for this course.)<br />
Students expand their knowledge of the commercial food industry<br />
through a study of menu planning, business management, and<br />
customer relations.<br />
Marketing I 6621<br />
Prerequisite: None<br />
Students learn the basic concepts that contribute to effective<br />
marketing including product distribution, pricing for maximum<br />
profits, advertising and promotion, selling, and product service<br />
management.<br />
Travel and Tourism 6645<br />
Prerequisite: Marketing I<br />
Students already familiar with marketing basics learn how to apply<br />
them the travel and tourism industry. Students learn how to<br />
manage customer relations, seek out travel destinations, and promote<br />
tours and travel.<br />
Sports and Entertainment Marketing I 6670<br />
Prerequisite: None<br />
Students learn how to market sports, entertainment, and special<br />
events. They study branding, licensing, and naming rights along<br />
with on-site merchandizing, concessions, promotion, and safety<br />
and security requirements.<br />
Sports and Entertainment Marketing II 6671<br />

Prerequisite: Sports and Entertainment Marketing I<br />
Students expand their knowledge of sports and entertainment<br />
marketing through simulations and projects that demonstrate<br />
their knowledge of event and facilities management, legal issues<br />
and contracts, and promotion.<br />
Family and Consumer Sciences Advanced Studies 7199<br />
Prerequisite: Three credits in the Hospitality and Tourism Cluster.<br />
This is a three-phased exit course for seniors who are career<br />
focused on a Human Sciences career. Students demonstrate their<br />
ability to use content and apply knowledge to real world situations<br />
through the three components of the program including a<br />
research paper, a product, and a presentation.<br />
Marketing Advanced Studies 6699<br />
Prerequisite: Three credits in the Hospitality and Tourism Cluster<br />
This is a three-phased exit course for seniors who are career<br />
focused in marketing. Students demonstrate their ability to use<br />
content and apply knowledge to real world situations through the<br />
three components of the program including a research paper, a<br />
