5 Installation
5.1 Regulations
The appliance must be installed by a recognised installer in accordance with the applicable national
and local specifications and regulations.
Commissioning should be carried out by the service department of your supplier, who can also
determine the composition and quality of the system water.
5.2 Boiler room
5.2.1 General
- The construction of the unit ensures that losses through radiation can be neglected.
- Because of the low noise level, additional sound insulation of the boiler room is unnecessary.
- Because of the position of the electrical components, a plinth is not required.
- The unit is so constructed that the space required for it is small.
- The range of applications for the boiler is that much greater because of the possibility to supply
it as a room sealed appliance (see Section 5.3.4).
5.2.2 Set up
In order to avoid any difficulties, the following rules apply to the boiler room:
a Install the appliance in a frost-proof room.
b Pay particular attention to the positioning of the appliance to ensure protection from freezing
and/or high temperatures.
c Ensure that the boiler room is sufficiently large, so that there is sufficient space on all sides of
the unit to permit mainte nance and possible replacement of components to be car ried out.
The recommended minimum free space is:
- 450 mm at one side
- 800 mm at the other side
- 450 mm at the rear
- 1000 mm at the front (space for free movement)
If the distances are smaller this will make maintenance activi ties more difficult.
Installation on a roof
When the appliance is installed on a roof or when the boiler room is the highest point in the system,
the following protective measures are important:
y
The unit itself may NEVER be the highest point of the in stallation; in other words, the flow and
return pipes from the boiler (as seen from the boiler) must first run upward before running down
to the boiler.
Despite the fact that every unit is provided with water flow protection, local authorities often require
low water level protec tion to be fitted. When multiple units are installed, it is only necessary
to fit one additional protective device.
