Fuel quantity resistance values
Andrew Westin, Miami, Florida
Is there a reference table giving
Q. resistance to quantity in my F33A’s
40-gallon fuel tanks I am pre suming
that the relationship is not linear.
We do not know of any chart giving
resistance values related to
A.
intermediate fuel quantities. I wish I
could come up with one!
The published full and empty values
for the transmitters:
• Inboard full 76 ohms, empty 0 ohms
• Outboard full 43 ohms, empty 0 ohms
Both are indeed non-linear.
Two articles on the Maintenance
& Operations page for your Bonanza
on the ABS website (under Members
Only) will give you some good info
on this:
components, here are some facilities
that can help with repairs:
I have a 1993 A36. Should the
Q. alternator be removed and
inspected at each annual Beech
publishes an “Overhaul and Replacement
Schedule,” which indicates that
a number of items be replaced at 2,000
hours. Are there any of the listed items
that one should consider replacing
more than the others
A.
Frequent inspection of the alternator
is suggested because failure
of the gear drive bearings usually
damages the crankshaft drive “ring”
gear, and replacement of the ring gear
requires engine removal and teardown.
Inspections are a little bit of money
to potentially save a lot of money. The
larger Continental Motors alternators
