may type the name of the school. The FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) will not allow students who indicate
that they have a high school diploma to skip this question.
The purpose of this question is to help high schools increase the number of students completing the
FAFSA. The U.S. Department of Education will share this demographic (non-financial) information with
the individual high schools attended by students who complete the FAFSA. The U.S. Department of
Education will also compile and publish aggregate statistics by high school.
This question may also be used to verify that the student received a valid high school diploma from the
listed high school.
