ome of the bones of John
the Baptist may be in a
church in Bulgaria. Researchers
from England’s Oxford University
say they can not prove that
a knuckle and other remains
are not those of the saint. What
they can say is that the bones
belonged to someone in the
first century who could have
been John.
The bones were found in a
small, marble sarcophagus two
years ago under the floor of a
church on an island called
Sveti Ivan or Saint John.
