As we say on our cover,
Atlantis Rising specializes
in ancient mysteries,
unexplained
anomalies, and future science. You
will find plenty of all three in this
assortment of DVDs.
ANCIENT MYSTERIES
Searching for the Ancient
Records: Closer than Ever
Before
An A.R.E. Conferences DVD Presentation
featuring: Christopher
Dunn, Laird Scranton, John Van
Auken, and Peter Woodbury
Atlantis Rising (AR) has provided
previous reviews of DVDs
featuring Christopher Dunn, and
many readers will be anxious to
hear his latest presentations on
this four-disc DVD set.
Christopher Dunn is featured
on Disc 1. His material is in reference
to some of his research of the
past 20 years, which had resulted
in the publication in 1998 of his
book, The Giza Power Plant: Technologies
of Ancient Egypt which describes
the Great Pyramid as a holistic
energy device that is
harmonically coupled with the
earth. Chris has published over a
dozen magazine articles and has
had his research referenced in over
a dozen books on Egypt. He has appeared on
PAX Television, the Travel Channel, Discovery
Channel, The Learning Channel, Lifetime Television,
and most recently on the History
Channel’s series “Ancient Aliens,” episode: “The
Evidence.” His second book, Lost Technologies of
Ancient Egypt: Advanced Engineering in the Temples
of the Pharaohs, focuses on an important aspect
of his research into the manufacturing capabilities
of the ancient Egyptians; and, through his
engineer’s eye and camera, he reveals to his
readers previously overlooked magisterial characteristics
of Egyptian architectural and manufacturing
wizardry. He is an engaging, fun speaker
with fascinating information to add to whatever
conference in which he partakes.
Disc 2 is allotted to Laird Scranton, maybe
not as well known to AR readers, though his ar-
ticles have appeared more than once in these
pages. He is featured in John Anthony West’s
“Magical Egypt” documentary series and “The
Pyramid Code” documentary series, both sold
by us; and we have included his three books in
our catalog. Scranton is an independent software
designer from Albany, New York, who
writes about ancient mysteries, cosmology, and
language. He has been interviewed on a variety
of radio programs around the world, and he
has presented at conferences on Ancient Mysteries,
including Walter Cruttenden’s annual
event CPAK (Conference on Precession and
Ancient Knowledge). Scranton’s talk on this
DVD is based on his three books on the
Dogon. His first book, The Science of the Dogon
offers a case-by-case comparison of Dogon descriptions
and drawings to corresponding scien-
tific definitions and diagrams from
authors like Stephen Hawking and
Brian Greene, then extends this
analysis to the counterparts of
these symbols in both the ancient
Egyptian and Hebrew religions.
What is ultimately revealed is the
scientific basis for the language of
the Egyptian hieroglyphs, which
was deliberately encoded to prevent
the knowledge of these concepts
from falling into the hands
of all but the highest members of
the Egyptian priesthood. Scranton
also offers compelling new interpretations
for many of the most familiar
Egyptian symbols, such as
the pyramid and the scarab, and
presents new explanations for the
origins of religiously charged
words, such as Jehovah and Satan.
In his second book, Sacred Symbols
of the Dogon, Scranton demonstrated
that the cosmological structure
described in the myths and
drawings of the Dogon runs parallel
to modern science—atomic
theory, quantum theory, and
string theory—their drawings often
taking the same form as accurate
scientific diagrams that relate to
the formation of matter. He also
pointed to the close resemblance
between the keywords and component
elements of Dogon cosmology
and those of ancient
Egypt, and the implication that ancient
cosmology may also be about actual science.
He uses these parallels as the starting
point for a new interpretation of the Egyptian
hieroglyphic language. By substituting Dogon
cosmological drawings for equivalent glyph
shapes in Egyptian words, a new way of reading
and interpreting the Egyptian hieroglyphs
emerges. Scranton shows how each hieroglyph
constitutes an entire concept, and that their
meanings are scientific in nature. Using the
Dogon symbols as a “Rosetta stone,” he reveals
references within the ancient Egyptian language
that define the full range of scientific components
of matter: from massless waves to the
completed atom, even suggesting direct correlations
to a fully realized unified field theory.
