7 th Grade Scientist<br />

Our 7 th grade Warriors enjoyed racing their <br />

Mouse Trap Race cars with their peers and <br />

other Science teachers. Super ScienCst Awards <br />

were given to students with Unique and <br />

CreaCve Cars, Speed and Distance. Winners <br />

were awarded from each class period. These <br />

students did an excellent job displaying moCon <br />

and force during their science labs and <br />

acCviCes throughout this unit. <br />

Chase Jacobs (Biomedical Research)<br />

On Feb 1, National Job Shadowing Day, 160 Pembroke<br />

Middle 8th grade students were able to job shadow in<br />

the community. Students were able to job shadow at<br />

different companies like Southeastern Veterinarian<br />

Hospital, UNCP, Lumberton Drug and others to explore<br />

what type <strong>of</strong> career they would like to have one day.<br />

CTE HOSTS ITS FIRST ANNUAL CAREER EXPO<br />

The Career and Technical Education Department <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Schools</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Robeson</strong> <strong>County</strong>, in conjunction with Hoke and<br />

Scotland counties, hosted the First Annual Career Expo in the Multi-Purpose Pavilion at the Southeastern Agricultural Farmers<br />

Market. This exciting event allowed fourteen hundred eleventh graders an opportunity to explore various careers in<br />

Agriculture, Business Finance and Information Technology, Health Sciences, Technology engineering and Design, Career<br />

Development, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Family and Consumer Sciences, Trade and Industrial. Special thanks to all<br />

the vendors who attended: Lumberton Police Department, Golden Living Center <strong>of</strong> Lumberton, Debbie’s Destinations, Two<br />

Hawk Employment Services, Lowe’s Food Stores, Lumberton Fire Department, Chick-fil-A <strong>of</strong> Lumberton, US Army, MedOne,<br />
