Field Trip
Mrs. Foxworth's and Mrs.
Hunt's kindergarten class
recently visited the Robeson
County Public Library to
engage in the Dancing Stories
by April C. Turner. The Library
was celebrating Black History
Month by enjoying rhythmical
African stories and dance. The
children really enjoyed this
experience.
PTO was held and many
parents and students were in
attendance. There were
student performances that
consisted of singing and
dancing. Parents were also
given the chance to meet with
teachers after the program.

Dinosaurs!
Pre-K and Kindergarten
What exciting time we
had as we celebrated the
100th day of School. Ms.
Jessica Leonard,
kindergarten teacher,
shared a very special
guest. Her Great
Grandfather, Mr. Welton
Harrington, 100 years old,
spoke about a lot of different
things happening throughout
his life. Adam Berry and
Deimyiah Smith were excited
to see him and hear about
him. Learning about history
is adventurous for us as we
have also been learning Black
History and all the important
people who have paved the
way for us today.
Our great group of First
Graders has been discussing
all types of changes in the
world around us and even in
our own lives. We made
timelines of our lives and
brought in pictures of
ourselves when we were
babies. Boy, we sure look
different! We are working
hard to get ready for our
Curriculum Fair. Our projects
were so much fun! Wow! We
can’t wait to see what the
winds blow in as spring is
upon us.
Second graders are eagerly
awaiting their field trip to the
Ringling Brothers and
Barnum and Bailey Circus in
Fayetteville. Students are
learning through math and
reading skills how the show is
put together and the
performers will perform. We
are working diligently every
day to show growth in all
areas: Accelerated Reading/
Math Tests, Mid-year Math
Assessment, Writing Tests
and the Middle of the year
Reading 3-D Assessment.
Through all this, look out
spring here we come!
Third Grade has been
studying about biographies in
Reading this nine weeks. We
are doing research on various
famous Americans and will
have a Wax Museum
presentation at the end of
February. Excitement is in the
air to hear all the reports and
to see the famous people.
Our “Dino”-mite Fourth
graders has been very busy
studying Magnetism, North
Carolina’s Statehood and
Dental Health. Students who
earned their incentive for
PBIS attended a school
dance to celebrate positive
behaviors. We are proud of
our students and their
accomplishments.
