NOTES:<br />

• Stock crankcases need to be machined to accept new cylinders. S&S can provide this service for you!<br />

• S&S Easy Start Cams can save you money – no need to buy compression releases or S&S rocker covers.<br />

• 2008-up touring models with electronic throttle control require Screamin' Eagle® 58mm throttle body and Harley-Davidson® race tuner or Dynojet® Power Vision flash tuner, see page<br />

1-61 for more details.<br />

• Main Bearing Note: S&S flywheel assemblies for 1999-'12 big twin engines are designed for use with Timken® style sprocket shaft bearings. They will fit directly in stock Harley-<br />

Davidson® 1999-’02 crankcases and in all S&S crankcases for Twin Cam 88® engines with no modifications. S&S does not produce a set of flywheels that is a direct replacement for the<br />

2003 and later big twin engines. Stock 2003 and later engines use the same roller type bearing for the sprocket shaft that is used on the pinion shaft. However, S&S flywheels may be<br />

used in 2003 and later engines with the installation of the Harley-Davidson® bearing kit #24004-03B. These crankcases use a roller type bearing for the sprocket shaft. Verify that the<br />

bearing kit contains the 24604-00D or 24607-07 sprocket shaft bearing. Do not use a 24604-00, 24604-00A, 24604-00B or 24604-00C bearing.<br />

• S&S recommends retrofitting a Timken bearing (31-4013) into 2003-'12 model crankcases with the use of a Timken sleeve, Screamin' Eagle #34822-08 or Jim's #956. A charging<br />

system spacer for 1999-'02 model year is also required. S&S can provide this service for you.<br />

• Fuel injection tuning is required. S&S offers fuel injection tuning solutions starting on page1-59.<br />
