The Bobbi Scholarship Fund: This scholarship established by<br />
Ms. H. Roberta “Bobbi” Heeter to provide financial support for<br />
<strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong> students who are the dependent children of widows<br />
or widowers. Just prior to her retirement in 2002, after 28 years of<br />
service, Bobbi became the first recipient of the <strong>Clarion</strong> Proud Award.<br />
To be considered, candidate must be an incoming freshman, dependent<br />
child of widow or widower, show financial need, and achieved a<br />
good high school academic credential. It is the intent of the donor<br />
that the award will continue to support the same student throughout<br />
his/her undergraduate career. The <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong> Scholarship<br />
winner must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a yearto-year<br />
basis. If you feel you qualify for consideration of this award,<br />
please send letter indicating so to the Scholarship Administration<br />
Coordinator, Admissions Office, <strong>Clarion</strong>, PA 16214.<br />
Sara Cicciarelli Leadership Scholarships: Established by the<br />
estate of Sara (Milanovich) Cicciarelli, Class of 1932, who taught<br />
English for 25 years in the Union School District. To be considered,<br />
students must demonstrate strong grades in challenging curriculum<br />
and have a minimum SAT score of 1000 Total or a 22 Composite<br />
Score on the ACT. First preference is given to students from Union<br />
High School in Rimersburg. Second preference given to students from<br />
other <strong>Clarion</strong> County schools. Students must demonstrate financial<br />
need and are considered automatically when they submit an application<br />
for admission.<br />
Mary & Martha Colegrove Educational Fund Scholarship:<br />
Award made to women from McKean County. The recipients can<br />
continue to receive the awards during subsequent years if students<br />
maintain a cumulative 3.0 QPA at <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong>. Students’<br />
records are reviewed for this award via their admissions materials.<br />
No scholarship application is required. Award made by February 1.<br />
Commodore Corporation/Richard Boyle Scholarship:<br />
Established by the Commodore Corporation in memory of former<br />
manager, Richard Boyle. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide<br />
support for dependent children of employees of the Commodore<br />
Corporation plant and the Colony Factory Crafted Homes plant in<br />
<strong>Clarion</strong> County. Selection is based upon demonstrated financial need,<br />
a written statement of application, and letters of recommendation.<br />

Application deadline is April 15.<br />
Minnie D. Croyle Scholarships: An endowment fund was<br />
established by the estate of Miss Mary Croyle to provide scholarships<br />
for eligible undergraduate students residing in eastern Redbank<br />
Township, <strong>Clarion</strong> County, Pa. Students from western Redbank Township<br />
will be considered secondarily. Selection is based upon financial<br />
need and academic achievement. The scholarships are renewable for<br />
sophomore, junior, and senior years if the required academic criteria<br />
are met. Contact the Foundation Office 814-393-2572 or the Redbank<br />
Valley High School Guidance Office at 814-275-2421 for additional<br />
information. Application deadline date is April 1.<br />
Derrick Scholarship: This endowed scholarship has been established<br />
by The Derrick Publishing Company in order to encourage an<br />
interest in journalism and reward a promising <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong> student.<br />
The scholarship is available to a sophomore, junior, or senior<br />
who is a permanent resident of <strong>Clarion</strong>, Forest, or Venango County<br />
and is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. An interest in<br />
journalism will be taken into consideration when awarding this scholarship.<br />
Preference will be given to students who have been carriers<br />
of the Derrick. It is possible the scholarship may be renewed in subsequent<br />
years. Contact the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences<br />
at 814-393-2225 for further information. Application Deadline date<br />
is March 29.<br />
Eberly Family Scholarships: An endowed scholarship fund was<br />
created by the Eberly Family Trust to provide scholarships for students<br />
residing in Fayette County. Award selection is based upon<br />
academic achievement and financial need. No application is required,<br />
as student records are reviewed via their admission materials for this<br />
renewable scholarship. To be considered, Fayette County students need<br />
at least a 3.0 grade point average and a minimum SAT total of 1000.<br />
Edith Davis Eve Scholarships: The Fund for the Advancement<br />
of the State System of Higher Education provides one-time scholarships<br />
to incoming students from Blair County. Scholarships available<br />
to State System universities each year on a rotating basis as determined<br />
by the Office of the Chancellor. These awards are based upon<br />
academic achievement and financial need. Student records are reviewed<br />
for this award via their admission materials; no scholarship<br />
application is required. Award usually offered prior to April 1, when<br />
available.<br />
Educational Opportunities Program/ACT 101 Scholarship:<br />
These scholarships will be awarded each spring. Any freshman,<br />
sophomore or junior who demonstrates academic achievement, leadership<br />
qualities, and commitment to the Educational Opportunities<br />
Program/ACT 101 may apply. Candidates must have a minimum<br />
overall GPA of 3.0. For additional information contact the Director<br />
of EOP/ACT 101 program at 814-393-1878.<br />
Foundation Honors Scholarships: Academically talented students<br />
at <strong>Clarion</strong> who participate in the Honors Program are eligible<br />
for multi-year Honors Scholarships. Students are selected on the basis<br />
of academic achievement and evidence of leadership and motivation.<br />
The scholarships are renewable, provided that students maintain<br />
the academic standards required by the program. Contact the Director<br />
of the Honors Program at 814-393-2585 for additional<br />
information.<br />
Foundation Leadership Scholarships: These scholarships are<br />
available to freshmen on a one-time basis. Past recipients have a<br />
minimum SAT score of 1200 and are in the upper 10 percent of his or<br />
her high school graduating class. Amounts vary. Students are reviewed<br />
for this scholarship upon receipt of their admission materials; no<br />
scholarship application is required. All awards offered prior to<br />
March 1.<br />
Foundation Non-Instructional Staff Scholarship: Annually the<br />
foundation makes available six $500 scholarships to be awarded to<br />
university staff members and their dependents. Contact the <strong>Clarion</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong> Office of Scholarship Administration at 814-393-2306 for<br />
additional information.<br />
Lois Borland Fulmer Endowed Scholarship: This scholarship<br />
fund established by the family and friends of Mrs. Fulmer to honor<br />
her dedication to teaching. The awards will be made to an entering<br />
or continuing adult student (full-time or part-time) of any major. Application<br />
information can be obtained each spring from the Financial<br />
Aid Office at 814-393-2315. Deadline date is April 1.<br />
Inez and B.H. Fulton Memorial Leadership Scholarship: This<br />
scholarship established by Ralph (’31) and Virginia Fulton in memory<br />
of Ralph’s parents. Past recipients have a minimum SAT score of<br />
1200 and are in the upper 10 percent of his or her high school graduating<br />
class. Incoming students are reviewed for this scholarship upon<br />
receipt of their admission materials; no scholarship application is<br />
required. All awards offered prior to March 1.<br />
Helen Gendler Memorial Scholarship: This award established<br />
by Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Gendler in memory of Helen Gendler. Funds<br />
provide an annual scholarship to a student with a disability who is<br />
registered with Special Services. Selection is based upon academic<br />
achievement, service to the university or community, and financial<br />

information.<br />
Mary R. Hardwick Scholarship: This fund was created to honor<br />
Dr. Mary Hardwick, retired Speech Communication and Theatre professor,<br />
and her career as a gifted artist and dedicated educator.<br />
Scholarships are available to incoming freshmen or transfer students.<br />
Selection is based upon a required essay, financial need, overall academic<br />
standing, and if necessary, a personal interview. Contact the<br />
