College to host ‘Free 4 All’
campus news
Laramie County Community College
students and their families are invited to
spend a Saturday in October attending a
“free-for-all” or more accurately a “Free
4 All.”
The third LCCC Free 4 All, an
Americorps service event coordinated by
LCCC’s Rotaract Club, will be an opportunity
for members of the campus community
to get goods and services for free.
The event will be held from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the
multipurpose room in the PE Building.
Hundreds have attended this event in the
past. A hot dog lunch will be available,
and door prizes will be given away.
The LCCC chapter of SkillsUSA will
provide free tire pressure checks and oil
changes, but prior registration is required
for the oil changes so that the right filters
can be ordered.
Representatives from Needs, Inc. and
Community Action will be on hand to
inform students about the services these
organizations provide.
Students in LCCC’s physical therapy
program will provide chair massages.
Dental hygiene students will be conducting
dental screenings and scheduling
appointments for follow-up care. Also,
students from Cheeks, a local beauty
school, will cut hair of adults and children.
Posture and blood pressure technicians
will be on hand, and safety checks
will be provided for child car seats.
Computer students will do repairs and
virus checks on computers. Children’s
clothes, toys and books will be available.
Many of the activities have been
designed with children in mind, including
a real fire truck and a bounce house.
There will also be pumpkin decorating,
fingerprinting, face painting and rock
climbing.
Prior to the event, donations of children’s
items including toys or furniture
may be brought to the Americorps office
at LCCC, Room 114 in the Business
Building. Time may also be donated.
