Research and teaching experiences<br />

Political and institutional change with a focus on democratization and democratic consolidation<br />

(historical-institutional paths from communism and beyond, populism as a destabilising factor in<br />

democracies), state capacity (governance indicators), administrative efficiency and<br />

implementation deficits (causes and consequences of corruption), policy transfer, discourse<br />

institutionalism and Europeanization of EU member states political systems and politics<br />

(specifically the judicial system and environmental policy).<br />
