An introduction to current techniques and modern experimental<br />

approaches used in the study of cells and their components. Includes<br />

electrophoretic and chromatographic analysis of DNA and proteins,<br />

organelle characterization, advanced techniques in light microscopy<br />

and photomicrography, and basic techniques of genetic engineering.<br />

One four-hour laboratory. Offered alternate years.<br />
