Although they begin in some areas in the 1700s, they are generally more complete beginning in the 1800s.” These records are organized chronologically and usually list the following: • Individual’s name • Occupation • Marital status • Name of parish/village moving from • Name of parish/village moving to Moving In (Inlyttningslängd) parish Vimmerby landsforsamling in the County Kalmar Moving Out (Utflyttningslängd) Moving Out - Card Unknown Parish If the parish where they lived is unknown there is still some hope. Hopefully a census or emigration records can provide the birth parish. Arkion www.arkion.se—Subscription site Click on English in the title bar. This site is mostly in Swedish but it has a few English sections. SVAR provides information about the Swedish archives and is provided by the Department of the National Archives. It lets you locate the original records that are in public archives. There is a subscription service for access to databases with scanned images and/or indexes. Information is also provided about purchasing records on microfiche. A search of the archives for “Scanned images” yields 3,546 documents. These can be selected by county or archival institution and also by type: general, fire insurance, court, church, and military.
